As part of its development, the VICAT group is recruiting a Deputy Industrial Director (F – H) for its subsidiary SOCOCIM, a Senegalese cement company, based in Rufisque, Senegal.

SOCOCIM is one of the largest cement companies in West Africa, equipped with modern facilities and whose actions aim to meet the demands of the Senegalese market and surrounding countries and also to reduce the carbon footprint of the cement process, protect biodiversity while ensuring good social conditions, with a positive impact on the environment and local populations. Production capacity: over 3.5 million tonnes, nearly 800 employees.

  • Implement the strategy to reduce the plant’s carbon footprint, in particular through the development of alternative fuels.
  • Ensure the day-to-day operational management of the plant, in particular coordinate the action of the production, maintenance, quality and performance departments in order to achieve the plant’s budgetary objectives.
  • Act as interim Industrial Director in his absence (personnel management, budget monitoring, interface with the hierarchy and the group, etc.).
  • Leading the continuous improvement process in the factory in order to optimise the quality of the products manufactured and reduce energy consumption.
  • Manage part of the teams directly.
  • Replace the Industrial Director in his absence.
  • The position reports to the Industrial Director (expatriate).
  • Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • At least 10 years experience in the industry, including 5 years in an operational position in a cement plant or heavy industry.
  • Open to other cultures. 
  • Ability to analyse and summarise.
  • Strong flexibility and work capacity.
  • Strong results orientation.
  • Good communicator, effective in influencing all levels of staff and driving change.
  • Leadership, especially in influencing safety practices and initiatives
